Finnegan got to see the White House gardens while we were in D.C. We happened to be there on one of the three weekends a year that they open the grounds to the public. It was very cool to wander around the President's back yard.

I hope this was the last snow storm of the season. I'm tired of feeling even more trapped at home than usual. At least it gave me a chance to put Finnegan in the cute snow outfit I bought him. He was very interested with the weather.

He finally made it! Finnegan was born January 19th and weighed 9lbs. We love him so much already.

We are still waiting for Finnegan to make his appearance. Kevin made me a lovely fire this morning before leaving for work, so I decided to photograph my breakfast. A fire makes a great backdrop.

Merry Christmas to Me!

I got lots of fun new photography equipment for Christmas. My inlaws gave me a new lens for my camera, my parents gave me a tripod, and my brother gave me a remote control shutter release. I am all set for low light photography!! Here is a sampling of pictures I've taken since Christmas. I'm trying to get some practice in before Finn arrives.

I'm proud to announce that my work was recently featured in a real-live-actual book! They contacted me almost a year ago about a submission, but I never heard anything more. Then, Kevin was searching Amazon for my Christmas Wishlist, and he came across the book. I was so excited!!

My Christmas Tree

We set our Christmas tree up the other day. I love coming home and seeing the lights sparkling in the window. This is our first Christmas in our new house, so I've been having fun finding new homes for all my decorations.

I've been taking pictures every day since I got it. I can't believe that I finally have my very own DSLR (a nikon d80). It is every bit as fantastic as I thought it would be. All the joys of an SLR, but you don't have to pay for film or processing! I've been putting my pictures on Flickr, if you want to check them out.

My First Booth!

Here are some pictures taken of me at my first show. Thank to Tifty Art for posting them on Flickr. I took my 5x8 Kelsey and did a little demo so that people could learn more about letterpress. I used one of my logo blocks and let everyone make a bookmark with some bright green ink.

Fayetteville Arts Festival

I'm so excited to announce that I will have a booth at the New Design Center during the Fayetteville Arts Festival this weekend. Lesha Shaver of Little Mountain Bindery invited me to come up and show off all my letterpress work, and I jumped on the chance. I've been printing like crazy to get ready. There will be lots of new stuff and some one-offs that will only be available that day. So, if you're up there for the game (go HOGS!) or for the Festival (go ART!) come by and see me.

Housing Update

At last Kevin and I are finally in our new home. Although there is still a lot of work to be done, we are quite proud of what we've accomplished so far. Here are some before and after pictures. The before picture is taken from the kitchen looking towards the back left of the dining room. The after picture is taken looking from the living room into the dining room.

Last night I got completely caught up on all my orders. Whew! I printed for about 4 hours straight. It was a lovely evening with the rain falling and a little Enya on the ipod. I like that my press faces the street so I can watch the world outside when I'm printing.

Ohh, my new pencils were delivered while I was typing this. I will post a picture soon! They turned out just adorable. I'm so excited!

Natural Curiosities

I finally finished my first ACEO cards. I'm doing a series of Natural Curiosities, with 20 cards for each Curiosity. You can buy the cards at my Etsy shop, or contact me to arrange a trade! These cards took a lot of work to create. They are printed on a nice, heavy piece of paper cut to the exact ACEO size. I used two different shades of brown ink, and I numbered them on the back with an antique numbering machine. They will come wrapped and well protected.

I designed these tags for a baby shower I went to last week. Everyone was really going on and on about them, so I decided to list some in my Etsy Shop today and see what the rest of the world thinks. I really like the little brown pram, and the die cutting job I did at the top edge. These will truly make any gift stand out!

Rock and Roll all in a Row

I printed several more sets of my Rock and Roll place cards last night. The vintage electric guitar is one of my favorite printing blocks. I really need to develop a better way to make these place cards though, because I have to run them through the press 3 separate times. Once for the guitar, once for the line, and once for the "rock and roll" quote on the back. I really love them though, so that's why I make them!

Cuppa Tea Gift Tags

These mini cards are my latest design. I printed them the other day from a vintage printing block with dark coco ink. The cards were made for my cousin to use at her adorable coffee shop {Zoës in Hot Springs, you should totally go if you're ever in town}. Once I printed them, I liked them so much I started selling them in my Etsy store. The paper feels like velvet and was a gift from Casey at Inky Lips Press in Texas.

Today I'm starting a blog that's all about me and my fantastic 1920's Chandler & Price Letterpress.
